Well now, you've got this far, so I suppose I should tell you something about me...

My name is Matt, and I'm currently 24 years old - although I hope to be 25 some time within the next couple of years.
I work in IT support at the moment, but I'm just £2,000 away from following my dream of being a
Paramedic
.

According to British law, I can't say that I'm married, but I got 'Civil Partnered' on August 26th 2006 to my partner Richard.
We now live together in Norwich, a beautiful city in Norfolk, surrounded by some of the best friends you could ask for, and just a short drive from our families.

This is a picture of me taken several months ago by a chap called Cy, an extremely talented photographer and someone I'm proud to call a friend.   We were photographing the ducks in Fakenham together and my jeans got covered in poo (from the ducks, and not due to excessive excitement).  Which reminds me, I really must wash them at some point.

This is another picture of me in the 2007 AFS HF SSB contest - for those of you who don't know what that means, it's four hours shouting down a microphone trying to make short contacts with as many people as possible.  Hundreds of people in Britain enter, and I managed 192 (confirmed) contacts in that time.  I came 54th out of 243 entrants.
My club, the Norfolk Amateur Radio Club is now confirmed as 10th out of 65 clubs.

I'm sitting in the radio 'shack' of Malcolm G3PDH, as I don't have the room for a good antenna system which is vital for contesting.  Malcolm's shack is also set up so that I could type the callsigns and serial numbers of the people I was talking to, while operating the microphone's on/off switch with a foot pedal.  See more about radio by clicking on the link on the right hand side.

I'm also a bit of a junkie for another type of radio - and that's BBC Radio Norfolk.  They're a lovely bunch of people, and the broadcasting is superb.  If you don't believe me, listen online by clicking on the link below.
If you're listening between 7-10am on a weekday morning, you'll be lucky enough to hear my friend Stephen!

Anger level (1-10) = 11, Meltdown
If the following text seems rushed or looks a little angry, its because I managed to delete this entire bit and overwrite the file while trying to be clever.
According to internet guidelines, I suppose by rights I should now show my anger by typing in CAPITALS but I prefer to use the good old fashioned methods and will therefore thump the keyboard twice:  jhnjadafhkjk  íhjfasdfik,i

Anger level (1-10) = 4, Aggravated
So, where was I?  Ah yes, some more stuff about me.
Well, the younger and more eagle eyed among you will notice two links at the top left - one for music and one for photography.  They give clues to two of my other hobbies, when I'm not stuck in front of a radio.

Photographically, if that's a word, I'm probably best described as a 'Technical Photographer' - someone who has poor artistic skills, but understand the technicalities of how the camera works and how a photo should be composed and exposed.
I ran an unsuccessful photography business for over 70 years, covering weddings, birthdays and funerals.

Musically, and without blowing my own trumpet, I enjoy blowing my own trumpet, trombone and piano.  The piano is the hardest one to blow.
I've played with a few bands of different types, sizes and abilities, and I've been lucky enough to sit with some incredibly talented musicians.
If you're unlucky enough, you may even hear my raspy tone on a few recordings.
In the photograph below, I'm holding my trombone.  If you thought I was doing something else, then please stop viewing this site immediately - you won't find that sort of filth here.  How very dare you.

I enjoy writing, and am part way through finishing my first novel.  The working title is
Identity Crisis, and you can hopefully read more about it here including some brief descriptions of the characters.

Two of my other quirks are my mild addiction to Red Bull, and my seemingly non-existent need for sleep.
Despite what people will think, I'm not convinced that the two are convinced in any way.
Feel free to experiment on me - but please bear in mind that I don't come cheap.  Somewhere along the line I have to make that £2,000!

The photograph below is of me in bed with myself.  I don't normally sleep well like this, as I tend to wake myself up snoring.  And as much as I shout and moan at myself, I still do it the next night.
Perhaps I'm just being spiteful?

Anger level (1-10) = 1, Placid
Well that's it.  Me in  a nutshell.  I don't actually have any photos of me in a nutshell as far as I can remember, but if I find one I'll post it on here.

If you've found any of this interesting/exciting/incorrect/illegal then please pop me an email by clicking on the link below, or by typing the email address into your desired email application.
Thanks!

Matt
